HG (Hot Guy) Rating

I sometimes see guys posting on the boards who claim to be very good looking. One of these guys asked: "I negged this cute girl, and it went bad, therefore, I must be hot." I was thinking, maybe he doesn't know how to neg, and that's the problem, rather than him being too good looking.

The question is, how is it possible for us guys to determine how hot we actually are? Not as in, posting a pic on hotornot flexing our biceps, but in terms of how people respond to us in real life.

What sort of reactions do guys who rate as 9's and 10's get in the field? Do such guys get 5 minute pulls? Are 9's/10's approached constantly? What sort of evidence allows us to make this determination about ourselves?

It's different for us because guys, like you know from the various pickup methods, are programmed differently than women. Guys are more superficial. If a UGG2 tried the mystery method on me, it wouldn't matter if she negged me or what, it wouldn't work. Women respond differently. So... it's hard to say how you are rated based on the responses you get. Two guys who are 7's can be treated like a 5 and a 9, respectively, solely based on their body language.

but the GENERAL idea of your superficial rating would be that if you're more on the good looking side, you're opened by females who are also good looking. You are given the benefit of the doubt more so than a guy with a rating 6 would get. Looks get your foot through the door but that's it.

GIrls taste varies so drastically that it is very hard to know how good looking a guy really is. I was a 9.2 on hot or not, but I'm 5'8" so if height is important to a girl, theres no way she will think im a 9... Also, if i actually look at the distribution of scores, they are all over the place. Some girls think im hot, others think im gross, and others think Im in between. Even guys that I think must be 10s in every girls eyes can vary from a 10 in a girls opinion to as low as a 5 believe it or not!

Ha ha ha, I would definately NOT use hot or not as a rating of how attractive you are. People just click whatever button.

You should have a good idea of how attractive you are no? Although I guess sometimes people have distorted perceptions about themselves. Sad.

Do you get comments from girls or friends on your looks?

Yes it does vary by girl because of different types but just like for women, there are certain factors that make a guy more attractive (ie. tall healthy frame, strong jawline, thick hair, bright eyes and smile, etc etc).

And unfortunately you are not all 10s! I know more than one PUA and it took me much longer to be attracted to one versus another even though they both had good game.

You don't think that womens taste varies much more dramatically than guys taste ... for example, if I think a girl is a 9, some guys might think 8 others might think 10, but very few will think 7. For a guy? I know girls who think im a 9, a 10, and some think im a 5 or maybe less. (real life people not hotornot) You would never see this phenomenom with guys rating girls.

From a 10 to a 5 is a big difference. I think the variation may be due to personality and style which might be factored into their rating of you.

Well theres no clear cut answer. There are many many factors involved! To give you an example since you mentioned height, I'm into tall guys but really My last ex was 6'1. I'd say he was an 8. My current interest is much shorter, only around 5'7 or 5'8 but he's hot and a 9.5.

Kina, girls tell me I'm "hot" "beautiful" and "pretty". I don't get these compliments every single time out, but I've heard them often enough to figure I'm attractive to women. I get lots of staring and some approaches from women too. How do you translate this into a numerical scale?
