I’ve been gone on a cruise in the Caribbean for a week and am just back. Being in a wealthy atmosphere such as a cruise ship really helped! It helped me to see possibilities. I go in to my job later on today and, to be honest, I’m not looking extremely forward to it. I spent a bunch of time on the ship writing out my goals and reading in Brian Tracy’s Goals book. I’ve realized the people I work with are poverty-minded losers, and I’ve been one of them. Tracy recommends in his book that you surround yourself with wealthy and wealth-minded people to help change your mentality. However, until I find another job (which is a high priority among my goals), I’ll need to be at my current job so that I have an income. There’s also no guarantee that there won’t be any whiners at my next job.
I’m looking for strategies to counter the poverty mentality that is rampant where I work. I don’t want to be influenced by the whiny bozos that I work with. Some of them have been doing the same low-paying work for over a decade! I’ve written up strategies for reframing any negativity that I encounter, and I’m going to be hanging out a lot here on this forum to make sure I’m influenced by wealth-minded people. I’m still studying Forex. I’ve read every word of the Forex thread and am studying and practicing Forex online, though I haven’t been writing much about it. I have way more to learn than I have to speak right now. I’ve been poor all my adult life. The goal is to throw poverty’s ass out of my life permanently, and that starts with throwing out any kind of poverty mentality and replacing it with wealth mentality. How might I find a way to hang out with wealthy people so that they have a good influence on me? |

I can't help you out with where to find wealthy people to hang around. I know it's probably a good idea though. Eban Pagan/David DeAngelo surrounded himself with intelligent people to keep him on track and look where he's at now, $29,000,000 income last year. I'm actually learning his methods on selling information products online, but I've also found that he understands all of the mind related stuff, so it's great to listen to someone who gets it. I recommend his products. If you want a list I can give it to you.
I have noticed the poverty mindset also. Everything that I've learned has put me in a completely different mindset compared to my co-workers and even my family. When I go into work now, I'm finding it more and more difficult to relate to everybody else, because the way I think now is usually opposite of them. Oh, just so you know, I wrote like four more long examples to go along with the stock trading example in my article, so you might want to check those out. |

Read Timothy Ferris' 4 Hour Work Week. He talks about how to live like a millionaire but not necessarily earning like one. One that helped me a lot is make a target daily income. How much should you earn per day in order to live a life of your dream. You'll be surprised that it is lower that what you thought it would be. Try it out!

I'm a big fan of "The Secret." It's better to dwell on the positive side and attract positive vibes that negative ones. Don't focus thoughts about overcoming poverty because you are still focusing on poverty. Instead focus on gaining wealth to attract it to you.

What I would do is get curious about everything that has to do with the business in which you are working, and start asking questions. You will rise above the whiners who probably just do a job when they're not goofing off and go home. management will take note.
